Frequently asked questions at ECpool

Can I participate in several pools?

Certainly. There is no limit to how many pools you can participate in.

To participate in a pool, you have to register first (register). If you are already registered you must login to your account. Then click on the link ‘my pools' and register to your heart's content for as many pools as you want to. The captain (organizer) of the pool must accept your registration first, however. As soon as this is done, you will receive a confirmation by email and you can participate in the pool.

Can I create several (new) pools?

Certainly. There is no limit to how many new pools you can create.

As captain (the organizer) of the pool you have the greatest chance of winning prizes. When someone in your pool wins, you (as captain) win the same prize. And when twenty (or more) friends participate in your pool, your pool automatically participates in the competition between all ECpool pools for Euro 2012 tickets of your choice.

To create a new pool, you have to register first. If you are already registered, you must login to your account. Then click on the link ‘my pools' and your can start as many new pools as you want to and invite your friends or colleagues to join them.

As captain you first have to accept (or decline) participants that register for your pool.

How many participants can play in one pool?

There is no limit to the number of participants in a pool.

When a pool has twenty (or more) participants, the pool automatically participates in the competition between ECpool pools for (two) Euro 2012 tickets of choice. The captain (organizer) of a pool decides who will travel to Poland or the Ukraine.

Until when can I enter or change my predictions?

You can change or enter your predictions whenever you want to until the tournament begins. To be exact, that is until Friday, 8 June, 6:00 p.m.

How do I change my predictions?

Go to login on the website and enter the email address and password that you entered when you registered (this is in the confirmation email you received). Your own account will appear. Click on the link ‘my predictions'. Click on the round and change your predictions.

Can I change my predictions during the tournament?

After the start of the tournament the predictions can no longer be changed.

Does only the score after 90 minutes count?

No. ECpool follows the official rules of the Euro 2012.

With the group phase, the score after 90 minutes plus the injury time is used. For the finals, it is the final score after a possible overtime and including any penalty kicks. Just as in the tournament, a tie is not possible in the final rounds; the score of the penalty kicks is added to the score (the die) that was on the scoreboard after the overtime.

How is the points counting done?

Go to the game to see the point count.

My points count is wrong.

Are you really sure? Count them again and have someone else count it too, before you report this. You can reach us via the contact link at the very bottom of the site.

What happens if two or more players have the highest total score?

In that case there will be a draw with a notary public to determine who will receive the prizes.

When do the scores get updated?

The results, scores and rank lists are automatically updated immediately (after a few minutes) after the final whistle, in principle. If, due to technical defects, this is not done automatically, everything will be updated at the latest three hours after the end of the last match.

What about those Euro 2012 tickets of choice?

In the group phase of the tournament, two participants from ECpool go to an Euro 2012 match of their choice each round.

When a pool has twenty (or more) participants, the pool automatically participates in the competition between all ECpool pools for (two) Euro 2012 tickets of choice. Per round, it will be determined which pool has the highest average score per person. The scores in the previous rounds (or later ones) don't count for this; it is about the average score (per person) in a separate round.

If your pool has the highest average score per person of all the pools in the first round of the group phase (8 to 11 June), the captain (organizer) of your pool gets to pick match tickets for each match in the group phase. And not only the match tickets, or course: also the flight and possibly stay (depending on the match times and flight schedules). The captain (organizer) of a pool decides which player from the pool will travel to Poland or the Ukraine.

It is the same for the second round of the group phase (12 to 15 June). Again: the scores in the rounds before (or after) don't count for this. Players who join ECpool only after the first round have just as much chance of winning.
When there is a tie, there will be a draw with a notary public. There will be no correspondence about the result.

I have not received a confirmation email.

  1. It could be that you did not enter the correct email address or made a typing error. To check this you can login with your email address and the password you entered before (if you still remember it). The email address entered by you is central in your account (registration). You can therefore not change your email address; otherwise all your data and predictions will be lost. If you really didn't enter the correct email address you will have to register again (this time using the correct email address).
  2. Did your register with a Hotmail or Gmail account? Check to see if it still active.
  3. It could be that your firewall or spam filter has a strict setting and the confirmation email ended up in your ‘unwanted items' folder.

I can't login.

  1. Did you enter your password and email address correctly? You can find your password in the confirmation email you received from ECpool after you initially registered.
  2. Were you previously able to login and are you sure that you entered your password and email address correctly? You might be able to solve the problem by removing your cookies and/or temporary internet files.
  3. If you have lost your password, you can create a new password here

I forgot my password.

We can solve this immediately. Click here to create a new password.

I registered for the wrong pool.

Yes, that can happen sometimes. Maybe it is a great pool though or maybe they will win a lot of prizes…

But if you do want to change this, go to your login on the website and click on the link ‘my pools'. Then click on ‘delete pool'. Next, select the pool that you accidentally registered for and click to delete it. You can immediately register for the right pool.

I can't change my email address.

No, we are sorry, but this is indeed not possible.

The email address you entered is the central data of your account (registration). If the email address is changed, all your data and predictions will be lost.

If this is not a problem for you, you can delete your account and create a new account by registering again with a different email address. To do this, go to login and click on the link ‘my data' and then on ‘delete data'.
